The Human Services Commission advises the council about human services planning and funding. Candidates must have an interest in and/or knowledge of human services and may not, during their tenure as a commissioner, be a member of the board of directors of a human service agency. The commission meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

The commission must:

  • Review requests for funding of human services;
  • Develop recommendations on priorities for the allocation of city resources to meet identified needs;
  • Pursue regional cooperation in the planning, funding and delivery of human services;
  • Conduct studies and make recommendations concerning emerging human services issues and concerns.

Candidates must be Bellevue residents. Residents in newly annexed areas are particularly encouraged to apply. Bellevue values diversity.

Residents can apply online or pick up an application from the City Clerk's Office or the Service First desk in City Hall, as well as in the Bellevue Regional Library, the Lake Hills Library or the Mini City Hall at Crossroads Bellevue. An application can be downloaded or you can request one faxed to you by calling 452-6466.
