Position 1 - Steven Kasner (Alternate Vice Chair)

Steve has been a member of the East Bellevue Community Council since 2006 and served as chair from 2009 to 2013. Prior to his service on the EBCC he served as a member and chair of the Bellevue’s Parks and Community Services Board. Additionally, his community service has included participation on the South Bellevue Community Center Citizen’s Advisory Committee and the Neighborhood Investment Strategy Citizen’s Advisory Committee. Steve has also served as President of the Classified Employees Association of Bellevue College and as a member of its All College Council. Currently he works for Kelly Education Services as a substitute teacher in private schools in East King County.

Steve is married with two children and has lived in East Bellevue for over 20 years.



Position 2 - Betsi Hummer (Vice Chair)

Betsi was elected in November 2013. She is dedicated to understanding the concerns of the East Bellevue constituents who elected her, helping resolve their issues, as well as helping us all better understand and work with the various governmental processes.

Betsi graduated from the Bellevue Essentials program in 2014, and was introduced to the City of Bellevue's various departments, boards, and commissions. She learned about Bellevue's One City initiative and met citizens and staff that can aid her constituents She has attended a wide variety of board and commission meetings throughout the past couple of years and made presentations to the boards and City Council as a private citizen raising awareness of the concerns of East Bellevue constituents, as well as informing those bodies of her decision making process in voting, especially the vote disapproving the Puget Sound Energy permit to build transmission lines along 148th Avenue.

She was selected to serve on the King County Transit Long Range Planning Citizens Committee 2015-2016, meeting with citizens from around the County and helping to formulate what transit may look like in the future.

Betsi and her husband Jeffrey moved to Sunset Ranch in 1990 and have raised their four children there. She is a Bellevue native, graduating from Bellevue High. She holds a BA from Seattle University, and an MBA from University of Puget Sound.

Betsi has been an active member at St. Louise Catholic Church, serving on the Parish Council in 2008. Betsi previously worked in the retail lumber business for nearly 30 years, and was involved in industry and civic organizations in Renton.



Position 3 - Gerald Hughes

Gerry was appointed on January 3, 2012 to an unexpired term and was then elected in November, 2013. He and his wife Sandra have lived in Lake Hills since 1982 and have four children and nine grandchildren in this area. Gerry founded the financial advisory firm Hughes,Link and Craddock that was located in downtown Bellevue for 25 years. His civic involvements include facilitator for a self help group under Recovery, Inc., helping those with anxiety and depression issues. He was a member of the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club for 10 years where he served as Treasurer and President of Rotary First Harvest. He has also served as Treasurer and President of the the now Lake Washington Institute of Technology Foundation. He is currently Treasurer of the Lake Hills Neighborhood Association. Gerry has a BA in physics, MA in mathematics and a MBA from the University of Washington. Before moving to Bellevue he worked as an economist at Weyerhaeuser, computer programmer at Boeing, and a geophysicist at Shell Oil. 



Position 4 -  William Capron (Chair)

Bill was appointed June 7, 2011 to an unexpired term.  He has lived in the East Bellevue area since 1969 and has been a business owner in Bellevue since 1981. He currently owns and operates the 76 station at 148th and Main Street. As a business owner he has served on industry commitees and is the former chairman of the Puget Sound NAPA Autocare Centers. Currently Bill holds the position of Chairman of the City of Ocean Shores Airport Commitee where he owns vacation property. Bill is a Sammamish High School Graduate and is happily married with two daughters currently enrolled at Washington State University. He looks forward to serving the community.



Position 5 - Ross Gooding

Ross has lived in East Bellevue with his family for 13 years. They enjoy the parks, community and quality of life that Bellevue offers.  He is a regional director for LPL Financial Services. He has experience as a 48th District precinct committee member. Mr. Gooding has a master's degree in business administration and has served as an Air Force cost analyst, dealing with major financial decisions.
