Bellevue Way SE lane and I-90 ramp closures

Bellevue Way SE lane and I-90 ramp closures

People traveling in Bellevue should be aware of weekend lane closures on Bellevue Way Southeast and ramp closures on Interstate 90 to and from southbound Bellevue Way as part of Sound Transit’s East Link light rail construction June 24-25 and July 1-2. The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Saturday and end by 9 p.m., Sunday. Details are contained in the Sound Transit's June 20 construction alert.

Three lanes on Bellevue Way from 112th Avenue Southeast will be closed, with one northbound lane available for travel. The eastbound I-90 ramp to Bellevue Way will also be closed. During this time, access to northbound Bellevue Way Southeast will only be available from westbound I-90. The sidewalk on Bellevue Way in this area will also close; people biking and walking should seek alternate routes.

More closures are planned throughout the duration of construction of the South Bellevue light rail station, guideway and associated infrastructure.

According to Sound Transit, these weekend closures are necessary for utility work. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained.

Similar additional weekend lane closures are expected over approximately a five-month period. Drivers can avoid the Bellevue Way Southeast and I-90 HOV ramps by using alternate routes such as I-405 and SR 520.

Also as part of East Link construction, Southeast Fourth Street at 112th Avenue Southeast, in the Surrey Downs neighborhood, permanently closed on Monday, June 5. Vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle access is not allowed. Emergency and construction vehicle access will be maintained.

Sound Transit has East Link construction information and updates.
