High winds caused a tree to fall on a power line in the 3500 block of 134th Avenue Northeast Thursday afternoon, requiring closure of the street from Northeast 24th Street to Northeast 40th Street to all non-local vehicles.
The street was reopened to traffic at about 3 p.m. Friday. The closure was needed so crews could remove the tree and repair workers with Puget Sound Energy could repair damaged power lines.
Motorists are reminded to treat all intersections with non-functioning traffic lights as all-way stops and to exercise caution.
