While planners work on the design report for a West Lake Sammamish Parkway that is safer for walkers, bikers and drivers, they invite resident input on some aesthetic components of the project. Citizens at a Dec. 9 open house got to vote on the proposed planting scheme for the parkway's buffer and the proposed design of the retaining walls.
Now you can too, online. The deadline for comments is 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 22. A host of details about the project, including a timeline and a schematic overview are available on the West Lake Sammamish Parkway page.
The latest designs reflect detailed land surveys done on the Parkway, and refine the concept work completed during the 2004-2005 public involvement effort.
Concerns and preferences will be used to refine the parkway plans. A second open house is planned for next spring, where more design features will be presented, including storm water improvements, pavement restoration and ideas on how construction work can be broken into different phases.
