Freeway traffic information:
UPDATED - The state Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has several projects under way that can affect traffic in Bellevue at any given time. For the most up-to-date information on construction activity on Interstate 405, visit WSDOT's I-405 Construction Update webpage; for information about work on I-90, another webpage is provided; and for current information on work along SR 520, a separate webpage is provided. Bellevue city traffic information:
NEW - Lane Closure: 116th Avenue NE & NE 24th Street: WSDOT crews will close the right southbound lane of 116th Ave NE near NE 24th Street for construction.
152nd Avenue SE, SE 46th Street to Newport Way: Motorists should expect possible delays from construction with traffic down to one alternating lane with flaggers the entire length of the project on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
NE 8th Street, 92nd Avenue NE to Lake Washington Boulevard: Motorists should expect possible delays from construction with traffic down to one alternating lane with flaggers the entire length of the project on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Lane Closure: NE 12th Street Bridge: WSDOT crews will close two of four lanes starting Friday, Feb. 26, at 5 a.m. that will last about two years as a new bridge is built. Two-way traffic will be maintained, but drivers should consider using NE 10th Street or other alternate routes.
Road Closure: SE 6th Street, 102nd Avenue SE to approx. 250' to the west: This section of SE 6th Street is closed 24/7 for equipment and material staging for the Bellevue Pump Station Upgrade by King County. The closure is expected to last approximately until June 2010.
NEW - 112th Avenue SE, SE 8th Street to approx. SE 16th Street: Sound Transit crews will be drilling for soil samples at various sites in the public right-of-way which may cause minor delays and increase noise on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Friday, Mar. 19. Crews will direct pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists around the drilling sites.
SE 35th Court & 163rd Avenue SE: King County Wastewater Treatment Division contractors will be installing a new fuel tank at the Heathfield Pump Station. Crews are expected to start excavation in early March. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. Drivers should expect possible delays and increased congestion in the area.
Commercial development and private utility work: Drivers and pedestrians should anticipate periodic lane and/or sidewalk closures and delays at these locations:
o Lake Hills Blvd. & 156th Avenue SE (Lake Hills Mall): Expect periodic lane closures during the day for through March.
o 116th Avenue NE, north of NE 12th Street (Children's Hospital): Expect periodic lane closures during the day.
o 116th Avenue NE at NE 10th Street (Overlake Hospital): Expect daytime hauling.
o Bellevue Way and NE 10th Street (Avalon Towers): Building construction. Expect lane closures daily on eastbound NE 10th Street approaching Bellevue Way and occasional lane closures on Bellevue Way southbound.
o 112th Avenue NE and NE 4th Street, 111th Avenue NE and NE 4th Street (112 Metro): Building construction, periodic lane closures on 112th.
