FREEWAY TRAFFIC INFORMATION: The state Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has several projects under way that can affect traffic in Bellevue at any given time. Lane Closures: Coal Creek Parkway between Forest Drive and SE 60th Street: One lane will continue to be open each way until December when all four lanes are scheduled to reopen (except for periodic private utility work, most likely during off-peak hours). The city will begin Phase II of bridge construction in April when four lanes will again be reduced to two. The bridge project is expected to be complete by the end of Sept. 2014.
NEW - Lane Closures: NE 4th Street at 116th Avenue NE: Work will begin on the NE 4th Street extension project Mon., Dec. 2. Expect intermittent lane closures and truck traffic weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Lane Closures: NE 8th Street at Crossroads Park: Crews are working on the mid-block crossing island and ADA ramps through mid-Dec. Work will occur weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times but lanes may shift from one side of the roadway to the other. Bike lanes will be closed in the construction area.
Lane Closures: Northup Way at 156th Avenue NE & 164th Avenue NE: Crews will be working at the intersections of 156th and 164th Avenues NE. Police officers will be providing traffic control at the intersections and traffic will be down to one lane alternating traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the next couple of weeks. Use alternate routes if possible. Expect lengthy delays.
Commercial development and private utility work: Drivers and pedestrians should anticipate periodic lane and/or sidewalk closures and delays at these locations:
o NE 2nd Place and NE 3rd Place between 110th & 111th Avenues NE (Marriott Hotel): NE 2nd Pl. will be restricted to eastbound-only traffic and NE 3rd Pl. will be restricted to westbound-only traffic 24/7 starting Mon., Aug. 12, through October.
o 106th Avenue NE, NE 2nd Street to NE 4th Street (Soma Towers): Building construction. Expect possible daytime lane closures.
