Residents will have an opportunity to comment on the draft 2012 Stormwater Management Program during the Environmental Services Commission meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE, conference room 1E-113.
Bellevue must submit a stormwater management program document each year to the state Department of Ecology. It describes actions the city will take in the upcoming year to protect water quality through the permitting process.
Bellevue is one of more than 100 communities in Washington that must implement requirements in the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II municipal stormwater permit. The permit is a requirement of the federal Clean Water Act.
The City Council will review and consider all comments received on the draft document before approving it for submittal to Ecology.
A copy of the draft 2012 NPDES Stormwater Management Program is available on the Utilities Department web page at http://www.bellevuewa.gov/stormwater-runoff-management.htm
