City of Bellevue employees will kick off a Season of Sharing, their 22nd annual effort to make wishes come true for people in need, on Tuesday, Nov. 27.
Members of the public, along with city staff, are invited to share favorite ethnic foods provided by employees, entertainment and the giving spirit from noon to 1 p.m. in the concourse on the first floor of City Hall. Children from Crossroads Preschool will provide musical entertainment.
Since 1986, city employees have worked with local nonprofit organizations such as the Eastside Domestic Violence Program and Friends of Youth to make the holiday season brighter for children and adults who have wishes, but not the means to fulfill them.
Residents are invited to join staff in taking gift wish tags or money envelopes from the giving tree in the City Hall concourse and then leaving the requested gifts or money in drop boxes on the first floor of City Hall or next to the parking garage elevator, also on the first floor. In addition, tags are available on a giving tree at the Crossroads Bellevue shopping center.
Season of Sharing donations are tax-deductible and will be accepted through Dec. 19.
