People interested in participating as team members or volunteers in Bellevue’s 24-Hour Relay Challenge can attend an orientation June 2, 13 or 16 at Bellevue City Hall.
The ninth annual Relay Challenge, 10 a.m., Saturday, June 23, to 10 a.m., Sunday, June 24, at Downtown Park, brings together youth and adults in celebration and collaboration. The event features 10-member teams taking turns walking, skipping or otherwise traveling around a one-mile pathway in the park. There will be food and entertainment.
In addition to the 24-Hour event, there is a “Relay-Within-a-Relay” from noon to 3 p.m., on Saturday for seniors, corporate teams, people with disabilities and elementary school-age children.
The orientations for the relay are:
• 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 2;
• 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13; and
• 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 16.
The Relay Challenge is co-sponsored by the City of Bellevue and the Bellevue School District. The Relay Challenge is one of Bellevue’s Greenway Days events, and Mountains to Sound Greenway is a major sponsor. Several local businesses and individuals volunteer their time, expertise and money.
