Beginning Friday, March 14, a telephone survey will be conducted on behalf of the Bellevue Police Department. While mail-in surveys have been sent to residents for years, the department is using a phone survey for the first time this year, hoping for more participation that way.
There is no selling or offering of products involved no request for donations and no need for personal information. Anyone with concerns about the validity of the survey can contact the Bellevue Police at 425-452-4129.
Designed to measure customer satisfaction, the survey will take about 10 to 15 minutes and consist of 27 questions. To be administered by a third-party firm, Advanced Market Research, the police survey will not require participants to divulge any personal information.
The survey is a tool for the Department to measure its success at providing public safety. Evaluated along with crime statistics, internal surveys and other feedback, the responses will help the department gauge its performance as well as the public perception of how Bellevue officers do their jobs.
The survey sample will consist of individuals randomly selected from among the people Bellevue Police interacted with over the past year, including victims, witnesses and even suspects who were arrested.
Advanced Market Research will have only the name and phone number of the participant, and both will be removed from the data prior to delivery to the Bellevue Police. This ensures the anonymity as well as the qualification of the participant.
If an individual is selected for participation, the caller will identify themselves as an employee of Advanced Market Research, calling on behalf of the Bellevue Police. The only identifying question will be to ask for the participant by name to ensure they have reached the right person.
