The city, through its partnership with Overlake Hospital, Group Health Cooperative and the state Department of Transportation, developed a coordinated plan and schedule for construction of the Northeast 10th Street extension. Coordination focuses on minimizing disruption to utilities, emergency patient access, general access and circulation to keep traffic moving within the area.

In October 2006, the city awarded a construction contract for Stage 1 of the Northeast 10th Street extension to Scarsella Brothers, Inc., of Seattle. WSDOT is advancing the final design for stage 2, with bid advertisement scheduled for early 2008.

The following is a summary of the construction schedule for the various projects:
