The Bel-Red vision aims for integrated design in transportation infrastructure. Working in conjunction with Sound Transit's East Link project and associated community development efforts, the Transportation Department is preparing to accommodate Bel-Red's anticipated growth.
The Bel-Red transportation projects are a number of high-priority investments that will improve access, circulation and mobility options for passenger cars, transit, freight, pedestrians and bicyclists. They will connect Downtown Bellevue, Wilburton, the new Bel-Red transit-oriented devleopment notes, and the larger city and region.
These projects, which include adding lanes and other improvements to area streets, have been associated and advanced as part of the city's 2009 Mobility and Infrastructure Initiative. The initiative was launched to address recent growth, accomodate planned new development and ensure coordinated design and implementation with East Link.
Projects in the Bel-Red area include:
- NE Fourth Street and 120th Avenue NE
- NE 15th and 16th Streets
- 124th Avenue NE
- 130th Avenue NE and NE 16th Street
