BELLEVUE--Local non profits, community organizations and businesses can learn how to gain publicity through effective media relations in an upcoming workshop. "Media Relations 101" is free workshop on Thurs., Sept. 23, 10 a.m. – 12 noon at Crossroads Community Center, 16000 NE 10th St.
The event will feature a panel of media relations experts who will share ideas to help organizations learn ways to effectively work with the media to promote programs and services to the community. It will focus on the basics of approaching the media with story ideas, writing press releases, and using print, radio, television and social media to increase exposure and outreach.
Scheduled panelists include: Jerry Large, Seattle Times Columnist.; Sean Debutts, Puget Sound Blood Center's Social Media Coordinator and Co-Founder of SocTok, LLC; George Griffin, Owner, G3-associates, a local public relations and communications firm; and Sonya Green, Public Affairs - Producer/Host, at KBCS-FM, 91.3.
