Freesia, a goat at Kelsey Creek Park, has a walk-on role in the June episode of Bellevue's TV magazine -- "It's Your City." That park, complete with a barn and farm animals, is one of several affordable ways to pass the time in Bellevue without spending a lot this summer.
"Bellevue on a Budget" is one of five segments of the June show, accessible multiple times each week on television cable channel 21, and viewable any time from the city's website. The other segrments include:
- Reflections of Matt Terry: Recollections from Bellevue’s Planning and Community Development Director, who retired in May after 30 years helping to guide the city's development;
- Police Defibrillators: Bellevue officers recount how a defibrillator, a new feature loaded into the back of many patrol cars, helped them save a man's life. The man who was saved comes to the police station to thank the officers later;
- Green Shopping: Some ways to make your next trip to the grocery store better for our environment;
- Bellevue on a Budget: Ideas for inexpensive (or free) summer fun in Bellevue; and
- Living better through healthy eating: A Group Health dietitian offers a bunch of tips.
