Donations
There are two ways to make a donation that helps support Bellevue firefighters and emergency medical services:
Somerset Women for Medic 1
In 1974 a group of women the Somerset neighborhood decided to give the proceeds of bridge tournament games to the then new Bellevue Medic 1. They formed the Somerset Women for Medic 1 and have continued to make donations to Medic 1 ever since. The group holds fundraisers and handles donations and memorial contributions sent to the Bellevue Fire Department (see address in right column of this page).
The Somerset Women for Medic 1 accepts tax-deductable donations. Donations are used to support medical training and supplies that directly benefit the Bellevue Fire Department Medic One service.
To make a donation, please contact Senior Administration Assistant Babette Bechtold by email or by phone at 425-452-5250.
Bellevue Firefighters Community Support Foundation
The Foundation is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization founded in 1999 by members of the Bellevue Fire Department to help those in the community in need of service. The Foundation performs outreach with area children and coordinates activities through Youth Eastside Services (YES) and Hopelink.
The BFCSF also helps support firefighters and their families in times of need as well as the Bellevue Fire Honor Guard, a highly regarded group of volunteers who perform flag ceremonies all over Washington and Oregon. Contributions, which are tax deductible, can be directed to the BFCSF at the Fire Department's address.
