News Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Outdoor concert could slow downtown traffic

Anticipating that a Miley Cyrus concert Saturday in the former Safeway parking lot downtown could have an impact on traffic, the city is prepared to close a lane on Bellevue Way.

At the very least, motorists could encounter slowdowns as a result of the 4 p.m. concert, a 45-minute store promotion in the vacant parking lot at the northeast corner of Bellevue Way and Northeast Fourth Street.

A large number of pedestrians could slow traffic on Bellevue Way and other streets in the area. The city may temporarily close the northbound curb lane of Bellevue Way for pedestrian safety.

All concert tickets will be provided in advance of the show. No tickets will be available at the gate.
