The Dec. 14 windstorm was a "200-year event" that battered Bellevue like no other storm in recent memory. However, the city's response was excellent, minimizing the hardship residents faced during the emergency power outage, Fire Chief Mario Treviño reported to the Bellevue City Council Monday night.

During its study session, the Council got a thorough debriefing from city staff regarding the storm and the city's efforts to help residents afterwards. Jim Hutchinson, local government and community relations manager for Puget Sound Energy, also attended the meeting and answered questions.
