Residents now have another week to submit nominations for Bellevue young who have given outstanding community service. Bellevue Youth Link has extended the deadline from May 10 to May 17. The 20th annual Community Leadership Awards will honor youth in elementary through high school making a positive difference in the community.
Bellevue Youth Link is a youth leadership program sponsored by the City of Bellevue and Bellevue Public Schools
Nomination forms can be picked up in Bellevue school offices, City Hall, Crossroads and Factoria Mini City Halls, Bellevue public libraries and community centers (Crossroads, Highland, North Bellevue and South Bellevue). A nomination form can also be completed and downloaded from Bellevue Youth Link.
The awards will be presented at City Hall on Wednesday, May 26, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Youth Awards will be given for the following categories:
1. Most Inspirational Youth - Boy 2. Most Inspirational Youth - Girl 3. Athlete - Boy 4. Athlete - Girl 5. Scholar - Boy 6. Scholar - Girl 7. Youth Leader - Boy 8. Youth Leader - Girl 9. Diversity Champion 10. Environmental Champion 11. Youth Volunteer - Boy 12. Youth Volunteer - Girl 13. Elementary School Student 14. Middle School Student 15. High School Student 16. "Warming Hearts Award" 17. Norm Maleng Award* 18. BYC MVP Award - Boy* 19. BYC MVP Award - Girl* 20. Phil Kushlan Volunteer Award* *(Bellevue Youth Link Participation Required) The Community Leadership Awards ceremony is a free event and open to the public.
