Do you live or work in the Bel-Red or East Bellevue areas?
If so, we would like your comments on possible transportation improvement strategies aimed at easing traffic through those areas of Bellevue.
The City of Bellevue is asking for public input as it updates its part of the 1999 Bel-Red Overlake Transportation Study, an agreement with the City of Redmond that addressed transportation consequences of planned growth the Bel-Red area of Bellevue and the Overlake area of Redmond.
New plans, including land use changes, will have impacts not only on the Bel-Red and Overlake areas, but also throughout East Bellevue. Elected officials in both cities have expressed their intent to adopt a "successor agreement" by the end of 2008 to address those new impacts.

One important difference between the 1999 agreement and its successor is the addition of an East Bellevue study area. Growth in the Bel-Red and Overlake areas and throughout the region is expected to have an impact on several north-south arterials that run through east Bellevue, including 140th, 148th and 156th avenues and West Lake Sammamish Parkway.
Please take a few minutes to let us know what is important to you and add any suggestions or comments here. Your participation will help in developing long-term solutions to the current transportation issues in East Bellevue. |
