The Bellevue 5K Run/Walk is set for April 25, and people are encouraged to form teams and sign up now.
This flat 3.1-mile course starts and finishes at Crossroads Park. The route will move through surrounding East Bellevue neighborhoods, before turning back to finish at the park, located at Northeast Eighth Street and 164th Avenue Northeast.
Now in its fourth year, the event organized by the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club and Kindering benefits Kindering, which provides intervention for infants and toddlers with special needs, as well as youth programs offered by other organizations. Organizers expect more than 1,500 people to participate.
Sponsors for the Bellevue 5K include: Brooks Running, Microsoft Corporation, the City of Bellevue, Lingenbrink and others.
"We are excited, especially after the tremendous support we received from last year's participants in the event," said Mimi Siegel, the executive director of Kindering. "It will be such a fun and healthy event, and we are thrilled that the course centers on Crossroads Park, our neighborhood jewel."
