Voters and would-be voters are reminded that the primary has been moved up a month, to Aug. 21. While residents have time to consider their preferred candidates for several county and port positions on the ballot, they must request absentee ballots or register soon.
If you vote at the polls and can't make it this year, request an absentee ballot. Call King County Elections (206-296-8683) or download a form from the county elections website. Absentee voters will be mailed a ballot on Aug. 1.
While the deadline has passed for registering by mail, people have until 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug 6, to register in person at the King County Elections Office in Seattle.
