FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, April 18, 2008

Additional washing machine rebate available

Bellevue's water provider, Cascade Water Alliance, is offering a special Earth Day promotion for rebates on clothes washers that use less water and energy. From April 15 to May 15, residents can get an additional $50 for a total rebate of $150 on the highest tier of efficient washers.

Front-loading "WashWise" clothes washers help residents save money on water and energy bills, and are also a great way to conserve natural resources and to protect the environment.

WashWise washers can actually cost less over the lifetime of the machine when compared to traditional top loaders, if you factor in the rebate and utility savings. The washers have no agitator, so clothes last longer too. Customers in the market for a new washer are encouraged to consider this opportunity to save now and for years to come.

To be eligible, residents must pay their water bill to Bellevue Utilities. For a list of qualified washers (there are a lot) and the Earth Day coupon, visit Cascade's website.
