Despite the cool, damp weather earlier this summer, Bellevue now faces a risk of wildfire due to the hot, dry conditions in recent weeks.
Most wildfires in the area are caused by people, so the public is encouraged to be careful around wildland areas and along freeways and roads where grass and brush are abundant.
Bellevue firefighters are trained and equipped with tools and gear for wildland firefighting. The Fire Department closely monitors weather conditions during periods of heightened fire danger.
Residents are advised to maintain a defensible space (30 feet of clearance from heavy vegetation) around their homes. If you are concerned about the wildfire danger and have questions, please call 425-452-6892. If you see a wildfire, call 911.
