Motorists should prepare for construction-related delays later this month when they travel on 145th Place Southeast in West Lake Hills and 108th Avenue Southeast south of downtown.
With paving at 145th Place between Southeast 16th and 24th streets, the street will be closed to all traffic from 7 a.m., Aug. 11, to 6 p.m., Aug. 20. Signed detours will lead drivers, buses, pedestrians and bicyclists to 148th Avenue Southeast via 16th or 24th streets.
At 108th Avenue, alternating northbound and southbound lane closures will occur on a couple of sections between Southeast 20th and 34th streets, from Aug. 15 to the evening of Sept. 2. From Aug. 15 to 21, southbound traffic will be detoured. From Aug. 22 to 28, northbound traffic will be detoured. In both directions, traffic will be diverted to either 104th Avenue Southeast or 109th Avenue Southeast.
From Aug. 29 to Sept. 2, the 108th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 20th Street intersection will be closed, and traffic will be detoured to 104th Avenue Southeast.
To inform drivers of the construction detours, electronic message boards will be set at each end of the project limits.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible. For safety reasons, bicyclists and pedestrians will also be required to use the detours.
As always, please obey the posted construction sign, the flaggers, and drive cautiously when you encounter construction. Traffic Advisories offers up-to-date information about construction activity and delays.
