It also provides coverage of the state Legislature, community events and special programming on issues of importance to residents.
The channel is operated through a partnership of the city and Bellevue College, which share costs of operating a state-of-the-art studio facility. Student crews provide staffing support, while gaining hands-on training.
NATOA issues government programming awards each year to recognize excellence in programming produced by local government. NATOA receives more than 1,000 entries annually representing more than 150 agencies throughout the U.S. and Canada. The 2011 awards will be presented Sept. 23 in San Francisco.
