To promote non-drive-alone travel to and within downtown, Bellevue operates the Connect Downtown plan under the state’s voluntary Growth and Transportation Efficiency Center program. This plan addresses commute trips to downtown businesses, particularly those with fewer than 100 employees, as well as trips by residents (worksites with 100 or more employees are typically affected by Commute Trip Reduction regulations). The City Council adopted Connect Downtown in March 2008.
The city is working with the Bellevue Downtown Association and King County Metro on a series of activities to implement Connect Downtown:
Connect Downtown (April 2010)
Commuter Connection (December 2009)
