City employees will mark the 25th anniversary of their Season of Sharing gift drive for those in need with a kickoff event at noon Tuesday, Nov. 30.
The community is invited to take in musical entertainment by the kids from Crossroads Preschool and to share snacks provided by city staff. The kickoff takes place from noon to 1 p.m. in the first-floor concourse of City Hall, located at 450 110th Ave. N.E.
Season of Sharing is an annual effort by city employees to provide people with disabilities and families in need with gifts. Nonprofit organizations involved in the Season of Sharing campaign include Friends of Youth, YWCA Women's Shelter, Eastside Domestic Violence Program and Children's Response Center.
Visitors are invited to join staff in taking gift wish tags or money envelopes from a pair of giving trees at City Hall, then leaving the requested gifts (with tags attached) in drop boxes on the first floor. Money donations should be left at the Service First desk, also located on the first floor of City Hall.
Tags are also available on a giving tree at the Crossroads Bellevue shopping center, located at Northeast Eighth Street and 156th Avenue Northeast. Season of Sharing donations are tax-deductible and will be accepted through Dec. 17.
