Councilman John Chelminiak tonight will make his first appearance at a City Council meeting since being attacked in September by a bear.
Mayor Don Davidson is expected to make a brief "welcome back" presentation to the council member at the beginning of the 6 p.m. study session. Chelminiak also is expected to make a brief public statement.
Council study sessions are held on the first floor of City Hall.
Chelminiak sustained major injuries after being attacked by a black bear in eastern Washington on Sept. 17. The councilman, who was walking his dogs when attacked, is still undergoing treatment for his injuries.
