Candidates running for seats in the State Legislature, representing the 41 and 48th districts, will participate in a forum at City Hall, 7 to 9:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 13.
Hosted by the Bellevue Downtown Association and Sound Publishing, the forum will feature the 12 candidates, six in each district, vying for the Senate and House of Representatives in the general election in November. Questions will explore many issues facing lawmakers in Olympia and voters here, such as the economy, education, taxes, transportation and the ballot initiatives.
Two panels comprised of editors and reporters from Sound Publishing's Bellevue Reporter, Mercer Island Reporter, Kirkland Reporter and Redmond Reporter will pose questions and lead the discussion in each district session. Audience questions will be taken in each session.
Admission to the forum is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, and the BDA requests advance registration online or by phone at 425-453-1223.
Parts of Bellevue are in both the 41st and 48th legislative districts. The 41st District also includes Mercer Island, Newcastle and parts of Renton and Issaquah. Legislators for the 48th District also serve Medina, Clyde Hill, Hunts Point, Yarrow Point and parts of Kirkland and Redmond. Legislative Districts
