Lanes on Bellevue Way and Northeast Eighth Street will be closed this week for paving. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly.
- Bellevue Way: Crews will prepare and grind Bellevue Way, between Southeast Eighth Street and 112th Avenue Southeast, from Wednesday, July 30, to Friday, Aug. 1. The work is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sections of the roadway will be removed with a milling machine and repaved the same day. Crews will be back in early September to finish the overlay on this section of roadway.
- Northeast Eighth Street: Repairs and overlays will be done on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the intersections of 124th Avenue Northeast, 140th Avenue Northeast and 156th Avenue Northeast. The intersection approaches will be planed and overlayed to repair asphalt rutting.
The work is part of Bellevue's 2008 Overlay Program, an annual effort to repave city streets most in need of repair. This year, Lakeside Industries, the Bellevue Transportation Department's contractor for the work, will repave 22.6 miles of roadway citywide.
