BELLEVUE – The cities of Burien, Mill Creek and Duvall are the newest members of MyBuildingPermit.com, now offering online residential mechanical, residential plumbing and reroof permits through the site. MyBuildingPermit.com now serves 12 cities and Snohomish County. Burien and Mill Creek are already live and Duvall is expected to be launched soon.
“The City of Burien has been considering Internet services, particularly online permits, for sometime. But the time and expense of implementing these services was too great a hurdle for the city. Now, thanks to the eCityGov Alliance, not only are these services affordable, but the multi-city aspect of these Internet services is a huge benefit to our citizens and businesses,” said David Cline, Burien City Manager.
MyBuildingPermit.com, a building permit service portal provided by the eCityGov Alliance, serves a regional population of nearly 700,000 citizens. Contractors and citizens can use the web portal to obtain any number of simple permits from member jurisdictions with a single transaction. The site also provides access to a library of construction tip sheets, inspection check-lists and online permit status and history for properties located in member jurisdictions.
The award-winning MyBuildingPermit.com is the first multi-jurisdictional permit portal of its kind in the nation. In addition to the three new cities, participating jurisdictions include the cities of Kenmore, Bothell, Woodinville, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Issaquah, Sammamish, Snoqualmie, Bellevue and Snohomish County.
"When it comes to installing a hot water heater or reroofing a house, our citizens care little about the differences between living in Snohomish County, east of Lake Washington or south of Seattle. They are all interested in fast, accurate and convenient permits,” said Rich Conrad, city manager of Mercer Island and chair of the eCityGov Alliance.
Other eCityGov Alliance services include:
- NWProperty.net - for finding commercial property for lease or sale.
- MyParksandRecreation.com - for searching and registering for recreation activities.
- NWMaps.net - for interactive mapping and property information.
