BELLEVUE -- Choosing mass transit over your personal car often saves you money and stress when you have to travel in downtown Bellevue. With the new "In Motion" program, you can save gas and receive gift cards worth a total of $50 too.
The City of Bellevue, in partnership with King County Metro and the Bellevue Downtown Association, is bringing the new program to downtown Bellevue. The program encourages downtown residents to use healthier travel options than driving, such as the bus, carpooling, bicycling and walking. In Motion has been a success in Bellevue’s Crossroads neighborhood and Seattle’s Columbia City, Madison-Miller and Ballard neighborhoods.
How the Downtown In Motion Program Works:
Downtown residents residing within the program boundaries, 100th Avenue NE, NE 12th Street, Interstate 405 and Main Street, will receive an In Motion informational mailing the week of Sept. 11. The mailing includes a neighborhood map and instructions regarding program registration. Once registered, participants will be given a welcome packet with eight free ride tickets for Metro and Sound Transit routes, as well as detailed travel information that the participant requests.
During the program’s 10-week duration, participants can earn up to $50 in Bellevue Collection gift cards by not driving alone for two or more trips a week and instead riding the bus, walking, carpooling or bicycling.
In Motion makes getting around downtown easier
With all of the businesses, shopping and entertainment outlets now in downtown Bellevue, getting around without a car has never been so easy and rewarding.
The program begins Sept. 18, and runs until Nov. 25. Details regarding the Downtown Bellevue In Motion program can be found at the In Motion website.
