FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday, February 27, 2017

Surprise snow makes for slippery commute

Snow, heavy at times, greeted Bellevue commuters Monday morning, making for slippery conditions in some roadway locations. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory at 7:03 a.m., updated late Monday morning to extend through 9 p.m. Monday. Snow may pick up in the afternoon/evening, so please drive and walk safely.

City crews from the Transportation Department, with support from Utilities, Parks and Civic Services, were out plowing streets shortly after the snow started. The city Office of Emergency Management also is monitoring conditions.

More details are available on the Extreme Weather Response page.
