FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, January 7, 2014

Public invited to comment on stormwater management plan

Residents will have an opportunity to comment on the draft 2014 stormwater management program plan at the Environmental Services Commission meeting Thursday, January 16, 6:30 p.m., at City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE, conference room 1E-113.

Bellevue must submit a stormwater management plan each year to the state Department of Ecology, which describes actions the city will take in the upcoming year to meet federal water quality protection requirements.

Bellevue is one of more than 100 communities in Washington that must implement requirements in the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Program Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit. The permit is a requirement of the federal Clean Water Act.

The City Council will review and consider all comments received on the draft plan before approving it for submittal to Ecology. The draft 2013 NPDES Stormwater Management Plan is available at Stormwater Runoff Management.
