Detectives searching for suspect in strong-arm robbery

The Bellevue Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect in a strong-arm robbery on the 10100 block of Northeast Eighth Street.

On Monday, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a man confronted a woman on the northwest corner, outside Bellevue Square, and forcibly stole her purse. The suspect was last seen running across Northeast Eighth Street.

The 30-year-old East County resident was not transported for any injuries at the time of the incident. The victim's description of the suspect aided detectives in rendering a sketch.

The suspect was described as a biracial male, approximately 18 years old, 5-foot-6, 140 pounds, with black hair/brown eyes, wearing a gray hooded sweater and baggy pants.
