FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, November 14, 2012

520 to close this weekend

Over the weekend of Nov. 16-19, contractors for the state Department of Transportation will close both directions of State Route 520 between Montlake Boulevard and Interstate 405 for girders to be set for the east half of the Bellevue Way bridge, construction of a noise wall east of 92nd Avenue Northeast and other time-sensitive activities. 

  • Beginning at 11 p.m. on Friday, all ramps, the floating bridge and highway will close. Everything will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday.

Expect noisy work this weekend
Crews will work around the clock. Nearby residents can expect to hear heavy machinery such as trucks, excavators, loaders, cranes and back-up alarms from equipment.
